KYLES of Bute Golf Club’s gents section held the Royal Hotel Trophy on Sunday, September 20, with a good turnout despite challenging conditions.
The rain largely stayed away, but a 30-knot wind made for a difficult day on the course.
Rob Anderson came out on top, taking first place with a net score of 67.
Dan MacRae finished second with a net 68, while Jim Carruthers took third place with a net 69.
Niall McFarlane completed the top four with a net 70.
There was one two recorded during the competition, achieved by Gordon Whyte.
Also played on Sunday was the four-man final of the knockout Watson Trophy.
Jim Carruthers was victorious in the final to claim the trophy, which is played for on alternate years between the ladies and gents sections.
The next competition for the gents will be the Paul Morley Trophy on Sunday, September 27.
The ballot will take place at 9.45am, with all gents members welcome to take part.
