A RHU hotel has submitted plans to demolish an entrance and replace it with a new glazed facility.
Management of the Ardencaple Hotel, on Gareloch Road, also wish to demolish an existing separate outbuilding to the rear of the main hotel.
While no design statement has been published as part of documents with the application, drawings show the proposal for the planned new entrance.
Argyll and Bute Council are expected to rule on Greene King’s applications by mid-February, with the public now able to view plans and submit feedback.
Experts visited the outbuilding in July, and have identified “widespread defects” in a report which has been published.
A spokesperson for Grossart Associates said: “Significant portions of the roof structure and associated timber support have either failed, are in an active state of collapse, or have been removed previously.
“It is also highly probable that rot has developed within the remaining roof elements, which would in turn compromise internal lintels that span openings.
“The freestanding wall forming the eastern elevation is not tied to the temporary structure and lacks any wallhead restraint due to earlier roof removal.
“In conjunction with the downtaking of this wall, consultation with an arborist is advised to safely remove nearby trees that may have become unstable as a result of restricted root development.
“Both the rear elevation and the eaves chimneyhead display a noticeable outward lean. These elements should be dismantled in a controlled and sequential manner as part of the necessary roof works.”
