William McKechnie and Cameron Fisher, two members of Largs Colts 2011 team, capped off a fantastic season with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Bonnyton to lift the league cup in a thrilling final.
The young team displayed excellent determination, composure, and teamwork to come out on top in a match full of drama and quality.
The game started cautiously, with both sides battling for midfield control and few clear-cut chances early on.
However, Largs began to assert themselves, enjoying more of the ball and pushing forward.
Josh Cameron came close, only to see his effort dramatically cleared off the line.
In the 27th minute, Josh broke the deadlock, coolly slotting a right-footed finish into the bottom left corner to give Largs a 1-0 lead at half-time.
Largs came out with real intent in the second-half and thought they had doubled their advantage early on, only for the goal to be ruled out for a foul on the Bonnyton goalkeeper.
That decision gave Bonnyton a lifeline, and they capitalised shortly after, levelling the score with a well-worked goal from a cross and tidy finish.
But Largs responded brilliantly.
Just six minutes later, Aidan McDonald delivered a dangerous free-kick that the Bonnyton keeper failed to hold, and Spencer Li reacted quickest to slot home the rebound and restore the lead at 2-1.
Momentum remained with Largs, and they extended their advantage on 53 minutes.
A superb driving run and precise pass from Kaiden Wilkie sent Spencer Li through on goal, and he calmly finished to make it 3-1 and claim his second of the game.
To Bonnytons credit, they didnt give up and pulled one back with a powerful free-kick late in the match, setting up a tense finish.
But the Largs defence stood firm, holding on to secure a well-earned and well-deserved League Cup triumph.
