SLAM TO RETURN TO DUNOON

LEGENDARY SCOTTISH techno duo Slam – Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle – are set to return to Dunoon for a monumental performance at the town’s Burgh Hall.

This event, marks their first appearance at the venue since their unforgettable show in 2014, promising to lightupthelocaldancescene and rally the community for a vital cause.

Hailing from Glasgow, Slam have been pivotal in shaping the global techno landscape. As co- founders of the influential Soma Quality Recordings, they’ve introduced seminal artists like Daft Punk to the world. Their dynamic six-deck performances have captivated audiences worldwide, solidifying their reputation as trailblazers in electronic music.

As part of their Dark Channel album launch tour the duo will be coming back to Dunoon and this time it’s for a worthy cause. Slam’s return is more than just a gig – it’s a heartfelt gesture to support the venue during challenging times. Their commitment to performing free of charge underscores their dedication to preserving Scotland’s cultural landmarks.

For the local dance music crews from across the area, Slam’s return offers a rare opportunity to experience world-class techno in their home town. This event not only promises an unforgettable night of music but also gets the community to come together in support of the Burgh Hall.

The line up will include Dan Monox who used to stay in Innellan along with up and coming Glasgow based female DJ Kairogen. A host of local legends are also on the bill.

Greg Girard, who has helped organise this gig and continues to work towards saving the Burgh Hall, said: “When we first booked Slam back in 2014 the hall was still

pre-renovation. That didn’t stop the crowd from having an absolute ball. To have them coming back in support of the cause is unbelievable. I know that Dunoon is going to

show them a good time and make it another legendary gig!”
